Safer Safety Ltd was formed in 1985 by Michael Craven who invented the world's first metal detectable earplug - “Detectaplug” - for use in the food industry. We were granted a patent for this invention and started production in Chesterfield, appointing nationwide distributors as the products became accepted.
Very soon the company also started selling other items of safety equipment including footwear & clothing, but since 1999 we have specialised in the subject of anti-slip products which include footwear, tapes, mats & floor coatings.
Our range of anti-slip footwear is made exclusively for us by Keuka Suregrip™. (as seen opposite)This is the most slip resistant sole on the market & is now seen by many as the Number One brand. They even work on greasy or oily floors! Slips, trips & falls account for over one third of all accidents and often up to half of reportable accidents within the food & catering industry. We also offer a full range of Anti-Slip tapes & mats to minimise the risk of slips in any workplace.
